This volume, which attempts to define the differences in Rorschach responses at the adolescent ages of 10 to 16, is the third in a series of Rorschach developmental studies from the Gesell Institute of Child Development. In a semilongitudinal, semi-cross-sectional approach, 700 adolescent Rorschach responses were gathered, with 50 boys and 50 girls at each successive age level. The present volume is a direct sequel to the earlier work, “Child Rorschach Responses,” which presented data on ages 2 to 10.
The authors state that presentation of Rorschach scores over successive age level “serves two related but essentially separate purposes: (1) to determine trends associated with age and sex differences and (2) to provide rough normative data on the levels of performance for different age and sex groups.” In the latter purposes, the book performs an invaluable service by presenting adequate normative data.
