The first three chapters are devoted to a discussion of constitutional and environmental considerations; this serves as a basis for a review, in subsequent chapters, of the clinical implications of these factors. The author points to the lack of precise information offered by scientific genetics which can be applied to practical clinical work and cautions that this often stimulates the clinician to devaluate the importance of heredity.
