The increasingly widespread recognition of adolescence as a significant singular and separate developmental period in life has been responsible for the appearance of numerous papers, book chapters, and books dealing with various aspects of this crucial period of crisis and conflict. This book, an outgrowth of a series of lectures on psychodynamics and the therapeutic applications of psychoanalytic knowledge to the handling and treatment of adolescent difficulties, contains seventeen individual papers that are remarkably all-inclusive in their coverage of the problems encountered by child, parent, and therapist. Surprisingly, there are little repetition and duplication in this series of presentations.
