The author of this "Christian Existentialist" book is too involved with the problem of salvation and too little concerned with depth psychology. His book contains a paucity of clinical data, and multiple assertions are made with little attempt at proof or scientific rigor. His use of symbolism smacks of jungian mysticism and has little relevance for contemporary psychiatry. The marriage of theology and psychoanalysis, inevitably stormy, is not even successfully consummated in this instance.
