The conference was sponsored, among others, by the Manfred Sakel Foundation in honor of the first anniversary of Dr. Sakel’s death, the 30th anniversary of the introduction of insulin coma treatment, and to reevaluate insulin treatment in schizophrenia, in view of unfavorable recent reports, such as those by Ackner, Bourne, and Bowes.The book is divided into three parts.
