AB The title of this superb work is indeed modest because it is much more than a compilation of readings or excerpts. It is a comprehensive, erudite, rich selection of most of the truly meaningful written material in the field of forensic psychiatry. However, it is at once a text book for the beginner and an up-to-date, extensive reference for the sophisticated member of the psychology, psychiatry, or law fraternity whether he be daily engaged in the courtroom or institutional settings or contributing his talents in the professional role. Let not this review lead the reader to the assumption that here is a ponderous, difficult, and timeconsuming tome. For with remarkable skills, editorial and otherwise, the authors have produced a work which carries the interested reader along from selection to selection and from chapter to chapter. The work is divided into four parts.
