AB This is a monograph in the American Lectures in Living Chemistry edited by I. Newton Kugelmass to advance the "knowledge of clinical medicine in the cause of clinical practice." A study of migraine lends itself very well to this concept.The author is a neurologist who has written to some degree on the subject and displays his thorough knowledge of the problem. It was his intent to present the subject in a concise fashion. He has succeeded admirably.The monograph is a series of chapters dealing with various phases of migraine. The brief chapter on epidemiology reviews the highlights of the combined psychological and physiological nature of the condition in relation to inheritance. Other chapters deal with associated medical disorders, precipitating factors, headache mechanism, etc. The chapter on biochemical and vascular changes is well done.
