AB The frequency of drowsiness attributed to orally administered chlorpromazine hydrochloride was compared among 130 nonsmokers and 201 "light" and 72 "heavy" cigarette smokers. Drowsiness occurred in 16%, 11%, and 3%, respectively. More rapid metabolism of chlorpromazine in cigarette smokers may explain these findings.
