Variation at the DAOA/G30 gene locus has been reported to be associated with both schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. In a study of more than 2800 individuals, Williams et alArticle report evidence that variation at this locus increases risk for major mood disorder, irrespective of traditional diagnostic category.
